Preheat oven to 375º F.
Brown sausage; drain fat, and set aside.
Prepare pasta according to package directions; drain. Put drained strips in single layer on sheet of wax paper until ready to proceed with recipe.
In a large bowl mix together the ricotta cheese, egg, parsley flakes, nutmeg, sugar, salt and pepper to taste.
Pour 1 1/3 cups sauce in bottom of 9 x 13-inch dish, then a layer of pasta strips, 1/2 of the ricotta cheese mixture, mozzarella and sausage and another layer of pasta strips. Repeat layers ending with final 1 1/3 of sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 15 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting.
