Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil
Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente
Drain the pasta and set aside
Prepare the Bolognese Sauce
In a large skillet or saucepan, heat a couple of tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat
Add chopped onions and garlic, and sauté until they become translucent
Cook the Ground Beef
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks
Add Vegetables
Stir in the grated carrot and chopped celery. Cook for a few minutes until the vegetables are softened
Prepare Tomato Base
Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, and dried basil to the skillet. Mix well
Pour in the beef broth, season with salt and pepper, and bring the mixture to a simmer
Simmer and Cook
Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let the sauce simmer for at least 20-30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Stir occasionally
Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary
Serve the Bolognese sauce over the cooked spaghetti
Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil or parsley if desired.
