Prepare pasta according to package directions; drain.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and tomatoes and sauté 4 minutes, until tomatoes begin to soften.
Add butter and sauté 1 minute.
Stir in cooked pasta, basil and red pepper flakes, if desired. Continue to cook and stir until pasta is well coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve topped with Parmesan cheese.
Recipe Tip: Add 2 cups cooked shredded chicken or shrimp to pasta.
